2019: Power is always precarious. In the summer issue of The Nib's quarterly comics journalism magazine, two dozen artists from around the world explore the impacts of empire. Artists share personal stories of revolution and decolonization, cartoonist Ben Passmore travels to self-sustaining farms in Puerto Rico, and Tom Humberstone illustrates stolen items in the British Museum. The issue also explores more novel concepts of empire, including the media empire created by absurd reality show The Bachelor and how a Jewish Holocaust survivor became the mystical all-natural soap mogul Dr. Bronner.
